Autumn Luz’s noir-ish songwriting has been described as "Fiona Apple meets desert blues." Her debut full-length album, Moments, is a sonic scrapbook of vulnerable vignettes pairing dramatic arrangements with bluesy, soulful, grunge-inflected riffage, and ’90s alternative rock influences. The long-awaited release features longtime producer Samwe, plus new collaborations with composer and multi-instrumentalist Matthew Gnat, as well as contributions from Autumn Luz’s live band for the first time. The album follows a series of singles and an EP that have earned praise from numerous media publications, and received airplay and chart success on radio stations across the United States and Canada.
After a half-decade as a dedicated collaborator, lead guitarist, and music director for indie darling Bartees Strange, where he “help[ed] redefine the sound of indie rock for the 2020s” (Rock n’ Roll Globe), Daniel Kleederman chose to let go of the festival lights and international tours to bring his attention to his own music and path. Releasing Another Life, his debut LP, featured as one of NPR’s “Best New Albums” during its release week in early April, was his first order of business. The record, a heartful journey through the depths of love and loss, is a “genre-bending lesson in songwriting.” Says Jammerzine, “Every song has a distinct sound while, collectively, making sense in that we are hearing the emergence of a new and original artist. This, to me, is a breath of fresh air in the indie music world...You will find a favorite track on ‘Another Life’, and that track will change from time to time...you will listen again, and again, because this is an album that is as interesting as it is memorable.”
Often drawing comparisons to Jeff Buckley with his emotive, rangy falsetto in toe, Kleederman’s song explorations are grounded first and foremost by his formative relationship with the guitar. Anyone who sees Daniel Kleederman perform understands his intimate and loving relationship to his instrument; in his hands, the guitar appears both an extension of self and a portal to other worlds. Kleederman’s friendship with the guitar remains a timeless force, ever-present in his current work, on and off stage.
Daniel is excited to bring the band featured on Another Life - bassist Chris Connors and drummer Alex Goldberg on drums - to Philadelphia to play a mix of released and unreleased music.
