The Community Stage Open Mic is a monthly gathering for artists, creatives, hobbyists, and curious humans to share work, try something new, and experience live art together. American Village
American Village is an opportunity to create and dissolve a community in real time. The process has one underlying assumption: America is still forming and each of us who lives here can contribute to that forming. As we explore through this group movement practice, we live into the questions:
What kind of America might we create together, 10 minutes at a time?
How do we feel about what we have created together?
What might we learn about our inner world, how we connect to others, and the larger implications of what we see in our temporary social field?
Through our actions and nonactions, we are always creating the future, so how might we practice becoming more aware of that in our daily lives?
Utilizing elements of Social Presencing Theater and Theory U, participants will engage in movement and embodiment practices that reawaken our ability to sense ourselves as integral elements of an interconnected eco-system, with power to create shifts in ourselves that ripple throughout our organizations, communities, and the larger world. Expect to spend time connecting to your body and becoming aware of authentic impulses for movement.

GARDEN CONCERT #2 - Rachel Andie & Hadley Whittle (Dream Home)
Under the pseudonym Dream Home, Hadley Whittle produces numinous art-folk, using elements of commercial melodies and found sound that center around themes of faith, birth, paradox, and the natural world. After completing studies in the humanities, she has spent time living in a variety of ecumenical communities around the world where she has written and produced alternative musical projects and continued to develop her craft in reclaimed-wood carpentry. She now lives in Northwest Philadelphia among friends who, like her, are concerned with cultivating community beyond online presence and towards a deeper reality.
Rachel Andie is a Japanese-American multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and visual artist from Philadelphia. Her work weaves together elements of folk, jazz, and rock to create music that feels both introspective and cinematic. Rooted in her diverse heritage and personal history, her artistry connects across cultures and lived experiences, offering a perspective that resonates with audiences around the world. Through layered arrangements and emotionally rich storytelling, she invites listeners into soundscapes that linger long after the music ends.
